The scorekeeper

Never train a parent or scorekeeper again.

  • Almost self-explanatory: it asks for what it needs, in order, and a first-timer can keep the book the first night.
  • Tap a jersey number. Nothing is typed while the ball is in play.
  • Substitutions, timeouts and the libero are counted for you, and it says when a team is out.
  • A mis-tap comes straight off. A referee's decision is written in and kept.
  • No wifi? It keeps scoring. Every tap is saved on the iPad first.

The referee

The book, live on your phone.

  • Scan the square on the scorekeeper's iPad. Your phone shows the score, the server, both rotations, the libero, subs, timeouts and cards.
  • A timeout countdown, then a TIMEOUT OVER flash.
  • Only someone with the link from that iPad's square can open it.
  • The first referee seals the book with their name. After that, nobody can change it.

The league

Results you never have to chase.

  • Sealed books go to the league the next time the app is open with a connection.
  • When both tables enter the match the same way (team names and match number), the league compares their books set by set. A disagreement is flagged, never guessed.
  • Every book is sealed by the first referee and can never be reopened.
  • Standings are built from sealed books, not typed by hand.
  • Your league's name on your printed sheets, set once on each iPad.

Security

Sealed means sealed. Nobody tampers with the book.

Sealed by the first referee, and it stays sealed
Once the R1 seals a book with their name, nothing on any iPad can change it, and the league server refuses to replace it. There is no reopen.
Every correction is written in, never erased
Before the seal, a mis-tap comes off cleanly, but a referee's ruling is recorded with the reason and stays in the book. The record is kept in order, as it happened.
Two independent books, compared
Each table keeps its own book. The league compares them set by set and flags any disagreement for a person to settle. It never picks a winner by itself.
The referee's page opens only from the iPad
The live book needs the key inside the square on the scorekeeper's iPad. A guessed or shared address shows nothing.
Locked doors everywhere
Only the app can send books, and only to your league. Every request is checked, limited, and refused without the right key.
No player names, ever
Books hold jersey numbers only. There is no child's name anywhere in ScoreRegistry to leak.

A match, start to finish

  1. IScan the line-up sheet

    Point the iPad, computer or phone at each team's sheet. The jersey numbers fill in from the square or from a picture of the numbers. Or type them.

  2. IIScore by tapping

    Enter each set's serve order, then tap POINT for the team that won the rally.

  3. IIIThe referee follows along

    The referee's phone shows the book as it stands, after every rally.

  4. IVThe first referee seals it

    They check the book and sign it with their name. It is final.

  5. VThe league has it

    The sealed book uploads to the league standings by itself: instantly with a connection, or the next time the app opens with one. When both tables entered the match the same way, their books are compared.
